Walk in the Pride Parade with West End Musical Choir in London this June 2024!

As this is a Pride celebration, we'd love to give priority to our awesome members who are a part of the LGBT+ Community.

• This is a walking event (not on a float). We've been told that walking the parade will be roughly 3 hours.
• As we're walking, you must be off-book.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

The UK’s biggest, most diverse Pride. A home for every part of London’s LGBT+ community.

The colourful & iconic Pride in London Parade celebrates the diversity of the LGBT+ communities. As well as the parade, enjoy a day full of free festivity events that take place in Trafalgar Square.

HOW WE'RE WALKING IN THE PARADE DURING OUR SUMMER TERM

We are so thrilled to announce that our application to take part in this year's Pride in London Parade has been accepted!

West End Musical Choir will be officially walking in the parade!

50 of us will be walking in our Choir performance attire (HIGHLY encourage you to wear glitter, body paint, rainbow symbols, flags etc!) through the parade singing along to our recorded tracks, taken at our Dress Rehearsals. As we're walking, it's not possible have a Musical Director or microphones, hence us singing to our recorded tracks to project our sound. Hello Dolly, Seasons of Love & many more celebratory musical theatre tunes from our repertoire!

Where to Meet?

Before Pride London we will be meeting outside the amazing Dorchester Hotel. The time will be confirmed closer to the event once we receive further information from the organisers but we wanted to give you as many details as possible for now.

When arriving please come from the East or the North. Avoid walking through Hyde Park at all costs!!!

Train Stations

Do not use Hyde Park Corner or Marble Arch Stations as you will find it very difficult to get to the meeting point. Paddington, Bond Street and Edgware Roads are good alternatives for arrival.

Wristbands

Your parade wristband will be issued at the meeting point outside the Dorchester Hotel on the day of Pride so please make sure to meet us there.

Arriving Late?

Once we have our confirmed meeting time please plan your travel carefully. You MUST enter the parade production area with the team at the appointed time. If you are late we are afraid there is nothing we can do to get you into the parade.

PHYSICAL GRADING:  The Parade normally goes on for about 6 hours from start to finish. We expect the route to take us 3 hours at least at a slow and steady pace. Please only sign up if you feel that you're able to be on your feet for this long.

ATTIRE: 

We would LOVE singers taking part in this event to wear a jazzed up Choir T shirt! Feel free to take an old T shirt and get crafty with it, the more creative and colourful, the better!  If you want to dye it, turn it into a crop top, add some frills, sequins and glitter! the decision is yours!  But no pressure to do anything to your Choir T shirt.

You can wear anything you want for accessories and on the bottom, the organisers have just asked that "swimsuit coverage" be the bare minimum :)  With that in mind, we still want to go BIG!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

COST: £17.50 This is to cover the cost of the wristband provided by Pride in London, is inclusive of our transaction fees and helps with some of the overhead of our involvement.
